This photo was taken at the Jollibee West Covina branch in California during our vacation last year. This man you see here, whom I had to hide behind a mask to protect his identity (:D) is a true blue American. His meal? A 2-piece burger steak with rice. Now how did he end up Jollibee? Well, he married my cousin and you know what they say, when you marry a Filipino/a, you marry the entire family. Hee hee. ;) So since my relatives were entertaining us here at Jollibee, cousin-in-law here gladly (?) joined us. Funny thing is, he actually considers himself to be a Filipino. Haha!
There are so many ways we can have fun with this week’s topic, “the culture factor”. One would be to share a recipe from the culture you identify yourself with and one you would like to introduce to another from a different culture. Another possibility is to share a restaurant where you’d love to take a foreign guest for a gastronomic crash course on culture. :D So take your pick! Let’s talk food and culture! Cheers!
