One of the simplest dishes my mom loves to cook for my dad. Though my mom has a full time job, she still finds time to cook for us. Everyday!
As for my dad, I never heard him made a special request from my mom. He’d be happy to have anything as long as it’s my mom’s cooking.
And Sundays were even more special since my mom has lots of time to cook. More time means more dishes means happy tummy, happy couple

Tinolang Manok
ingredients
oil
garlic
onion
ginger
chicken pieces
water
salt and pepper
sayote or green papaya
dahon ng sili
directions
a. saute garlic, onion, ginger
b. add chicken and cook until it slightly changes color
c. add water, bring to boil
d. let it simmer until chicken almost cooked
e. add sayote or green papaya until tender
f. salt and pepper to taste
g. add dahon ng sili, stir until well blended.
h. remove from heat and serve


an ideal dish is one that is simple to cook, one that doesn’t require too much work…which is why tinola also often finds its way on our dining table. hahaha! buti na lang hindi yan ang post ko.
i chose a beef dish, because that’s hubby’s idea of “ideal food”…anything with beef!

tinola was the very first ulam i attempted to cook. and let’s just say, i got better at it as the years went on, hehe!
